Embracing the New Year with Hope and Pure Intentions

Happy Brand New 365 days of whatever you want them to be.

I look above my laptop. A window, I see the bright blue sky. Looking down again, the black keyboard, letters stare at me. There’s so much in my mind, but it is all jumbled.

Breathe Farah, I gently tell my heart.

Your world is full of hope. Not once you doubted your destiny, after you made up with Him. He is by your side, always was, always will.

Yet sometimes I doubt it, heck, been doubting a lot lately.

Breathe Farah, I gently tell my heart.

The blue sky is vast, so bright and blue. It signals hope, freshness and strength. I feel fresh, like brand new, how nice.

My heart is smiling.

Smile more Farah, My heart tells me.

There is a lot to be grateful for. Today is a reason to say Alhamdulillah. Seeing the blue sky is surely a blessing. I am alive, I am breathing.

Farah smiles at the thought of all her dreams. A tiny drop of tear wets her eyes, Farah knows, she believes.

As I take deep breath in, I exhale out all the fears that have clouded my mind. I want to achieve I want to dare, again and again and again. I want to jump high, I want to reach that blue sky. Feel it embracing me.

Telling me about all the things I haven’t felt yet. Telling me about all the things I missed out on. Assuring me that now is my time, Go Live!

Here's a thought:

Forget resolutions, affirmations and words, this year why not try to set intentions? I was thinking about my word for the year, my first time by the way, and I got really worked up. Ah I gave up. There was too many words that resonated. (Lol)

Suddenly I remembered a conversation I had with my sis recently where I suggested to her that we should make niyyah and trust Allah to guide us.

-Niyyah means Intentions in English and in Islam intentions are the roots of every action. It reflects the underlying motives of why we plan something or do what we do. Narrated in a hadith, our Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. said, "Actions are (judged) by intentions (niyyah), so each man will receive what he has intended for” (Bukhari & Muslim)

It made me realise that we make everything so complicated for ourselves when it really isn't. Don’t let the new year resolutions and affirmations banter make you anxious and burden your mind.

Make it simple and set intentions for all that you want to do. Set good intentions and reap favourable rewards and the rest leave it to Allah(God) to handle.

LASTLY, do more of what makes you happy, follow your heart, be kind and smile more every day.

I wish you a fab 365 days ahead.
